India is still a growing country, but its growth is way faster than any other country, and at its speed it will reach and become a superpower by 2030. recent statics have shown that India has found enough plutonium for approximately 10,000 more nuclear ICBMs or any other type of nuclear weaponry. Indian soldiers also have the highest moral known in the world. This means that the are willing to give their lives for their country, this almost gives them extra strength and confidence and the ability to achieve anything, even at the cost of their life. And economically their economy and society will slowly get better, considering it has only been 60 years since India got their independence from Great Britain. So it is still a new country, but its growth is truly immense considering the fact of when the got their independence.

India becoming a superpower is debatable, though not impossible. I will say that India has made marvelous strides. It has one of the largest economies in the world that will continue to grow, it is governed by a functional democratic government, it has dismantled a centuries-old caste system (though there is still work to be done on the social divide), and it has lots of young people (the last one is extremely important). It has the second largest population in the world and a strong and modernizing military force. I applaud India for it's successes. It still needs work however. It is still lagging behind China in development and strategic viewpoint (India's own political elite have stated that India's inevitable rise is unrealistic). Millions of its citizens still live in poverty. There is also high inequality and entrenched corruption. Plus India is hemmed in by a vast ocean, the tallest mountains in the world, China, and Pakistan who just might end nuking India if a war breaks out. ... more

I wish India will become superpower, but it is very hard as huge population is still living under poverty line. Minorities are not safe, there are different territorial disputes with neighboring counties, specially with china and Pakistan which could drag us into into well again. we have to Work together to solve these problems as all ways towards our success goes through these area. ties of Pakistan and China are getting stronger and stronger which have direct impact on our political and defense strategies. What we have did in Punjab in 1984 is black spot on our democracy, genocide of sikh community. We have to realize use of Power against own people is not in our favor. Those of you who are saying that India will be the strongest country of the future need to get your facts straight.in a country where almost half the population is starving and illiterate there is no chance of becoming a superpower. Also those of you who say that India is a great nation because it has two aircraft carriers need to realize that they are not the future and key to warfare in the modern world. Need I also remind you that with climate change an almost certain possibility, unless we learn to clean up our mess. India will become so hot that you can't even live there or grow food a country that is uninhabitable will not be a superpower.Sorry guys but it just ins't going to happen.

I myself am Indian, and I've seen India with my own eyes. The country is sinking in poverty, over 838 million Indians(2/3 of the nation) are in poverty and approx. Half of those in poverty, don't have access to basic resources such as food, running water, electricity and shelter. India's poverty will never let it succeed, and also the prevailing Hindu majority and the current mix of Hinduism(national religion) and gov. Will ruin the country. Recently prime minister modi banned beef in the state of maharashtra in India. A lot of India's workforce is also Muslim and this has angered them, as long as religion rules government, poverty is there, India moght grow a little, but not to a world superpower. The country still wastes billions of dollars a year fighting Pakistan, when its own people are starving

India deserve the top spot, but we should keep that in mind that our country is very populated and very polluted and full of poverty. But India has hardworking and smart people too. But to be honest, India will never become superpower until and unless we transform our education systems, create a corruption free political system, control the population and pollution and if we get successful than poverty will automatically get reduced. The coming century is really going to be more India centered the reasons are, 1) India has most young population in the world and will be for a long period. 2) Young population of any country is a huge boost for GDP of a country as it is the work force, when other country population are getting older, India is getting younger. 3) As India is a fast developing country it has potential that will be only going to increasing with the development of the country this all due to young population coming up in the future 3) In India most of the college student mainly opt for Engg or Med courses this gona create a huge technical talents in the country in field of Aero space, Nuclear, Medical, Aviation, Nano tec, Bio tec, Naval Engg etc, this technical Boom is going to happen soon and that gonna transform India into a world power house of work force and generat a lot of income for the country and GDP. 5) Indian space and miltary sector is going into transforming of privatation which gonna stop ... more
