I'm black from Ohio I worked for a moving company I was driving through Mississippi with a co-worker who was white we were stopped by the police. The cop was passing us he happened to look over and see me driving he immediately hit the brakes and pulled us over. Straight Red Neck he asked if we had anything to pray for like we had drugs, after examining our paper work I left my I.D. at home I told us if the office can't get my my driver license # that he would take me to jail and let my white co-worker drive on. I got my drivers license number he turned a brighter red color and told us we don't have log books so he made us park the truck at the nearest hotel for 12 hours or he would arrest us. Sitting at the hotel we walked to get some beer just the people looking at a black and a white together was like we were about to be struck down by God or something crazy. Can't do Mississippi not for me I would be smacking people left and right go crazy and probably get killed in police station

Dr king said that a doctrine of black supremacy would be as dangerous as white supremacy. God is interested in freedom of every race getting along. Even amazing leaders and wise men like dr king can exaggerate there words. What he said about all racism being offensive is true. Maybe all racism is offensive but it doesnt mean all racism is equally offensive and not all racism is equally offensive. Of course not all racism is equally offensive because for one thing not all racism is inherently even. There is no race that can be just as villainous with as strong of an army as white supremacy based on all the systemic racism. I live in Mississippi and there is a very bad reputation of the state for racism that just is not true. I have lived in six states from along the East Coast and Mid-West. The people in the midwest are more racist than those here in Mississippi. In Mississippi maybe 3% of the population is racist. That small percentage is very open about their racism and everyone always hears them and people give those racists all the media attention. Here we just ignore them. In the midwest the people will tell you not to go to certain areas because they are rough areas but only say that because only black people live there.

I am white and was in Meridian, Mississippi for work for about 5 months in 2012. While planning for this trip I did have reservations of dealing with black against white racism as I have in the North East. On my drive through MS to my work destination there were a few times we stopped for gas/food and we were stared at with the "what the heck are they doing here" look but that was the extent of it during my stay. I found that the white and blacks stayed to themselves and didn't see much mixing in social circles. I found that the black people were much friendlier and god fearing people while many whites there rarely even made eye contact. I heard many racist remarks-usually from older white men. I have been across this country and back several times in the last five years and found Mississippi to be an eye opening experience. Its literally all over MS. I grew up in a small town called Port Gibson MS where they use to close everything down on Thurs to buy and sale blacks. Well its 2015 they still close down businesses early on Thursday...but I bet they won't think of touching a black without thinking twice. The state has made MLK, Jr. Day, MLK, Jr ROBERT E. LEE...AND WHO IS ROBERT E LEE? Well I'll let u Google him. It's a very political and racist state. I've never seen anything like it. And some of the blacks know the whites dislike them but will cater to them and assist with destroying other blacks for attention and promotion. As a white man from this pathetic state, I do apologize.. Not all of us are racists, I promise! But I will have to agree that we are definitely the most racist out of every state. Alabama and Arkansas are very close behind us. Here is the real truth. Although most crimes that occur here are committed by African Americans, especially from the town that I am from, that does not necessarily mean that every single black human being is bad. That is what a vast majority of white people here believe. They believe that if your skin is not white, then you are automatically a thug and a criminal. It really is sad. I have relatives in Mississippi who I visit occasionally but they and their friends are still hanging on to all kinds of prejudices that sound like the 1950's all over again. They regularly use the N word, hate President Obama, but claim to believe in God and practice true religion. The white folk shop the WalMart in Jackson, MS during the daylight hours but the blacks only come out after dark to shop there. We went to the local store one night at 9 PM and I was completely amazed as how full the parking lot was and how many blacks were in there doing their shopping. It really smacked of segregation and the blacks seemed to accept their fate and position. This segregation is also very noticeable in many other ways in this red neck state. It has to be the absolute worst State for racism.
