Washingtongian in Seattle since birth and not so proud of calling myself an Washingtonian at all since realizing that racism exist evening in Seattle. African Americans are continuing mistreats whether it's in any professional field in Seattle. I'm Caucasian and Asian American and it's disgusted when hearing family or friends disgracing African Americans in today society. We all have our issues and my culture is not prefect too. If it's not the Asian, Latinos, Caucasian, Arab, Scandivian, Irish disrespecting them or continuing secretly insulting them during interview for a job by offering them less then what they deserve instead forcing them out of an employment to make way for our Caucasian or light skinned cousins who are racist against the black cultures as well. I grew up in Longview Washington and during the summers my dad would take me and my family around Portland and Seattle. I had friends of All races and I was White. But whenever I was around my black friends other friends they wanna think I not Ghetto enough to hang out with them simply because I am not black. I show them a few scars, show them I am armed to the teeth with a pocket knife, tell them I grew up on 15th and they shut up real quick. But in Washington Area this is how it always is.. My sister's family is bi-racial. Her eldest child joined the Marines just so he could escape african-American baiting. The principal at his public school said more than once he belonged in a different school because he "looked" black. At a school function, a chaperone came up and tried to seperate him and his white date, because he looked "threatening" to her.One of the country's largest neo-nazi churches is in Eastern WA. Don't get me started on eastern WA neo-Nazis.

Moved here from Texas, thought it would be better. No it's not. My kids don't get invited to birthday parties or playdates because of the color of their skin. I get profiled at restaurants, stores, etc. I hear comments on how "so many of you moved here from your home country"--I was born and raised in the US, no "foreign" accent but because I am Asian I must be from the home country. BS that Seattle is tolerant and any damn less racist than Houston.

I am Asian Canadian visiting baimbridge island. We stopped off at a Burger King where I asked my 70 year old mother what she wanted, but in Chinese. This local resident gleamed at me like I just stole money. Then finally she said, if you or your family cannot speak English, don't visit my state! We obliged. Don't complain if your economy is in the dumps. We won't speak our vacation dollars at your English only Island.

I lived in Seattle for a long time and I'm white, funny thing is.. That's skin color, can they tell if I'm Cherokee Indian and German and Irish lol What does any of this matter anyways? When are people going to realize that there going to have to share this world and get along whether they like it or not. I think for me I was too Hollywood for them being born and raised in Calif. In Washington, it entirely depends on where you are. I have some MMO buddies from northern Washington and they are quite racist. I've heard them say things like "why not have white reserved areas" or "to be honest, Trump should find a legal loophole to deport legal Mexicans". I've also seen some documentaries set in Washington that had people in rural Washington that where EXTREMELY racist.

Washington is SAD. It's just as racist as these other places-just in a different way. People try to be racist in an educated, over your head way. Also, I've been treated like a criminal by whites, and not only them, but Hispanics, and mixed blacks out there. If you have lived east of the Cascades... Oh god... Super conservatives and racists abundant... NEVER go to the major cities in Eastern and Central Washington... (such as Yakima or Spokane) if you are like me you'd get annihilated by racist kids..
