I believe it's kind of hard to determine what special forces unit is "better" as they all tend to have their own specialties and therefore are better or worse depending on the situation. However, given Delta's secrecy, 100% accuracy marksman training, and incredibly high risk training methods (for example: using live ammunition in hostage simulations, while their comrades play the roles of the hostages). ALSO seeing how Delta recruits from other special forces groups, and many others have "open try outs", I'd say that Delta Force is at least the most "badass".

Who the hell even comes up with theses lists? While delta primarily recruits from the army the recruit from all branches/all units, including DEVGRU. People are recruited upwards to more capable units not downwards to less capable ones. Operators move from other units (if they pass) to delta, delta operators don't go to other units.While the SAS is outstanding and the forerunner of what today is called special ops and the original template for delta, many SAS operators ( somewhat grudgingly) have admitted to being surpassed by Delta, even if only by a small margin.CAG is the top of the pyramid.

The Delta Force is the best special operations group in the world. They are better than the seals in every way (except amphibious operations). They follow a philosophy that gets the right people, not just the the best. You can be the best at what you do and still not get into the unit. Delta is the same equivalence to the SAS. So it would be a tie in my book. Plus the reason why they are better than the seals are because delta was taught to shoot while they were rangers or special forces. Seals on the other hand have never shot a gun being a sailor until they earn their trident. That says right they're why SFOD-D, SAS, SBS, and probably the rest of the us special forces are better. I really think they don't even qualify as the top ten in the world for that matter, unless we're talking DEVGRU.

Delta is top of the top. They were formed after the SAS and then were trained to one up them. Even seal team 6 try to join and most don't make it. You also have to be highly intelligent to where you can speak multiple languages much like the SAS. And most importantly they are the best at keeping their mouths shut. That's one thing every special forces unit in the world are supposed to do. Sadly they don't. Especially navy seals.

They all have different SOP and objectives.They all have wins and they all have losses. You cannot base an accurate "score"on who is the best.Delta doesn't really talk about what they do. They don't recruit from other branches, they recruit from within the Army, especially from the Rangers.

I think most of these lists are heavily influenced by Hollywood on other media. When looking at a true all-around soldier, look no further than Delta Force. There may be other selections that are tougher but that doesn't make you the most effective warrior. You won't find any better shooters than these guys other than maybe US Secret Service.

One of my oldest friends has been in the SAS for nearly 15 years, the SAS are the BEST trained in the world because they have to be, the equipment they get are poor compared to the US SF hence why they have to be elite at everything they do (practice) my friend said to me that Delta are the most effective fighting force in the world at the moment because they have been trained to the same spec as the SAS and have the best equipment. Read up about the SAS and Delta fighting in Iraq for the last 4-5 years and you will find they where doing missions every night for years. People who say that the Seals are the best SF in world are Muppets, they get all the high priority missions because they are the presidents vote count.
