Top tier "Superman" training that even the other special forces operators respect. Air, sea, jungle, sand...they're in it killing bad guys, usually behind enemy lines, and with a primary mission to save your ass at the same time no matter who you are, how well you were trained, or what the attrition from your program. If you've needed them, you know this, and how happy you were to see them coming. The fact that they are trained as equals, treat other operators as equals, and do their job SELFLESSLY for Army, Navy, Marine, fellow Air Force, or foreign friendly alike, makes them number one in my book.

Navy SEALS aren't trained I the field of medicine nearly as well as pararescueman. In fact, no other special forces group in the world is trained as intensely in this field. The Pararescue training has a 90% dropout rate, not only due to the physical intensity of the program, but also do to the inability to keep up mentally. Pararescueman have to train in every condition and learn to not only survive those conditions to fight, but also to give medical attention to whomever requires it. "Because even Navy SEALS. Green Berets and Recon Marines need to call 911." no matter where or when, Pararescueman can save the lives of those trapped under fire and keep them alive no matter the cost. Field Medics meets Special Forces. Honestly Pararescueman are SEALS with medical training. This extra training puts them on top.

It is a fact that USAF Pararescue have the longest training pipeline of any special forces unit in the world. It is also a fact that they have the highest attrition rate in the entire world. Another fact, other special forces the world over call the training these guys go through, "Superman" training. Why do that call them that, it's simple, because nobody, no other SF unit in the world can do what they do, nor have to do as extensive and strenuous of training. They are the modern day, real life version of true "Supermen"!Another more fun fact, it has been proven on a reality T.V. show, that these guys are capable of taking out an entire team of any other SF group or combination of individuals that the world has to offer. Each week of the program, One "PJ" was pitted against every possible SF type trained individual or team and he consistently decimated an entire team of SEALS, same with British and Australian SAS, and the list of those they put him up against really goes on ... more

Employ land, sea, and various aerial insertion methods, capable of direct-action, CQB, advanced comms, and light underwater salvage in denied territory in order to fulfill their mission: Global 24/7 CSAR. And they hold National Registry Paramedic certificates (EMT is only the first six weeks in that process) in order to triage, treat, and transport their casualties. Light on demolition training (not typically part of their mission). In addition to Rescue Squadrons, PJ's are regular actors on spec op composite teams, interservice small units that train for specific missions. They have the typical special operations attitude: they don't focus on the possibility of success as much as they do the impossibility of failure, and they simply don't quit. Doubt their combat abilities? Stand between them and their pilot...

Water Confidence training, AKA "The Pool". After PJ recruits spend their day training like a Ranger of a Navy Seal, they spend time in a swimming pool where they are forced to perform tasks while being denied the ability to breathe. Imagine following a Ranger's daily training with a waterboarding session where the subject must perform tasks while being waterboarded. Most people don't know the U.S. Air Force even has Special Operations units. The PJ's do their jobs better than you can imagine, and almost in complete obscurity.

These guys have saved the lives of thousands, whether they be victims of natural disaster, downed airmen, fallen soldiers, and wounded civilians. They have rescued people from the British Army, Afghani ANA, Coalition troops, and more going all the way back to Vietnam. These guys are what Navy SEALs and SAS members would be if they went to med school.

They have to be able to rescue any soldier on the planet regardless of the situation, and they have premiere medical training that others on this list lack. I notice Navy SEAL's are number one. PJ's have to go through more training and be able to save a SEAL anywhere on Earth, whether it be a mountain, Ocean, or 200 miles behind enemy lines.

Longest training in the world. Not only are their PT standards higher than SEALs just to get in the course, the attrition rate is almost 90%. They have to perform the same duties as normal Special Operators while also caring for and often times carrying another soldier.

Sorry but you are wrong in your point that they have more intense training than any other unit in the world with 90%, the MARCOS has that title at 98%, and the SAS not far behind that with 96%, and then Spetnaz and Grom equally on 95%, so your way of the mark with that bud.

No matter where you are, no matter how deep you're in, these guys will go and get you the hell out, These are the guys who pulled Marcus Luttrell out from that hole in Afghanistan. Also they have a 2 year training course, longer than the SEALs.
