How you put suicide and Recon in the same writing is disgusting. You talk about your dad but were you in the Military? Were you in FR? If you weren't in Recon or FR then maybe you shouldn't speak at all, if you weren't in the Military maybe you should think twice about what your saying! What most of you have said is disrespectful. I know you may mean what you say in respect but it isn't. We do Not need a pat on the back, we do Not need recognition because we know what we have done and some still do. I know you Love your father, but before you go bringing up what you Yourself don't know about, please leave it to people that have had fun in these ranks.

My father was a Marine Corps Sniper in Vietnam. I wanted to follow in his footsteps but he told me no because they don't try to train you they try to kill you. The Marines are always the ones on the frontline during a war or conflict yet you dare to put them as 15th to the best? No wonder the moral of the true elite of the elite armed forces are so far down. No wonder there are so many American Veterans committing suicide. Our men women are sacrificing their lives and/ or their sanity only to be told that they aren't good enough. The men women who are blessed enough to come home to their families come with PTSD, DID, Depression, Lowered Moral and a sense of not being good enough. My father came home on Medical Discharge after he lost it after seeing two of his best friends heads blown off in Vietnam. I'm former 0321 and this is some "fake news" or fake polling. I was 2nd Force in 1959 - 1967 and I'd stack Marine Recon up against any others. We should certainly be in the top 5. Do some research and read the training required. Recently there was a show on AHC re Force Recon - In my day, Marine Recon DID NOT talk about their missions to the outside world. Just was not done. The story was pretty factual and I was shocked, so I called a long time Recon friend to ask if he had seen the program or ever heard of this? He spent 27 yrs in the Corps and 14 years in 1st, 2nd 3rd Recon and his answer was "Hell No"Just curious who did this polling? Semper Fidelis

My father served in the USMC for 26 years. He served in Korea and Vietnam. I swore an oath to defend my country against all enemies foriegn and domestic in 1979 and I was honorably discharged from the USMC in 1976. To this day I am active is all manner of sports, even with two bullets lodged in my spine. I deal with pain and keep moving and I owe it all to the Marines Corps.I love the Corp! How we could be rated so low is beyond my comprehension. As an aviator on the CH-53, I was in constant contact with my Force Reconnaissance Brothers and I have watched them in action and they preformed flawlessly. Semper Fidelis!

I am joining the marines, but it isn't fair that my brothers here are not in the top three. I mean the marines are already the most elite group in the world, plus the force recons are the marine corps' special forces, so the force recons should actually be first. That is why I am joining the marines. All these other ones are wack with the exception of SEALS and SPETSNAZ

Honestly this is good this shows how elite they are my father was one, no one knows what they do yet Navy Seals need a pat on the back and tell the public. Really a Marine grunt unit would whoop a green Berets ass. Now the army rangers are a awesome group and they get my props. In my opinion the seal, marine force recon and army delta and the army rangers should be around 16th to 18

As a former force reconnaissance team leader I find 15 to be a laughable joke. Any Marine Rifleman has more discipline than 90% of the elite forces you have placed above us not accounting for that mental advantage alone leaves your poll wanting.Simper Fidelis
